In August 1993, Scott took up the full-time post of Assistant Director of Music at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. Whilst there, Scott toured Germany, Hungary, Belgium and France as well as appearing on national and international television and radio and recording four CDs with the cathedral choir. From February 1997, Scott spent six months as Acting Director of Music, during which he masterminded the music for the Bishop's Enthronement, whilst continuing to appear as conductor with the New London Orchestra.
In January 1999, Scott moved to the Ely Cathedral as Assistant Organist to work with Paul Trepte. As well as playing for the daily choral services and regular broadcasts, Scott is piano, singing and organ tutor at the King's School and is also the school organist. Since his arrival in Ely he has recorded three CDs and toured Malta and the USA with the cathedral choir and appeared as soloist with the Britten Sinfonia in Poulenc's Organ Concerto. He is also a conductor and accompanist and is director of the Ely Consort.
As a soloist organist his recitals have included appearances at Westminster Abbey, York Minster and St Paul's Cathedral. In 1997, Scott recorded his first solo CD entitled 'French Connections' which has met with critical acclaim.
Scott Farrell joined the choral society as musical director in autumn 2000.
